Introduction
--------------
Clip PRO is an OS 5 extension that remedies two major problems with the standard Palm OS clipboard. It increases the amount of text you can copy from 1KB up to 64KB, and allows you to keep up to 14 clipboards (10 live, 4 static) active at any one time. Clip PRO also provides some useful text manipulation tools, search options and other text utilities.

One way to use Clip PRO is to assign a hard button to it. Do this by selecting a button appropriate to your device from the list on the Activation screen. Then whenever you need to use Clip PRO simply hold down the button for about 1 second and the menu will be presented to you.

Clip PRO can also be activated through the command bar, so if you want to copy a piece of text you select the text as you normally would, then activate the command bar with the upward right-slanting stroke, select Clip PRO, then Copy. Pasting is just as easy, except the Paste option will open another list containing your 14 clipboards, and show you the first dozen or so characters. Find the one you want and voila!

Clip PRO also has an "auto menu" option. When enabled all you have to do is select a piece of text and Clip PRO will automatically display its menu - allowing you to cut/copy with less pen taps! To disable the "auto menu" option simply turn off the checkbox labelled "Auto menu" in Clip PRO.

The Append and Prepend options let you add selected text to the end or start of an existing clipboard. You select the desired option, then specify which clipboard to modify.

The Import/Export options allow youto transfer text to/from the standard Palm OS clipboard. This is handy for dealing with data in applications that don't use a standard edit control (hence making the data invisible to Clip PRO - such as DocsToGo, WordSmith etc). Import will copy text from the clipboard into Clip PRO, Export will copy data from Clip PRO into the standard clipbaord - ready for pasting. Clip PRO will also automatically import any text in the clipbaord into Clip PRO.

The Tools menu will allow you to perform a number of useful manipulations on selected text. These tools are also available within the Clip PRO application so you can manipulate your stored clips as well.

The clipboards that Clip PRO uses will retain their content even after you reset your Palm OS device.

You can also edit your clippings by launching the Clip PRO application. Tap the item you want to edit, make the changes (including deleting), then tap the Save button.

Please note: you cannot use the Clip PRO functions whilst you are editing the Clip PRO database. However the standard Edit menu features are available.

Don't forget to take a look at the Clip PRO Desktop Component - which lets you quickly and easily sync your clipbaord data to your PC!

--------------
Installation
--------------
Simple, just HotSync the ClipPRO.prc file onto your Palm device. You can run the Clip PRO application on your handheld to enable/disable it as you like (but why would you disable it?!)

To remove Clip PRO (blasphemy!) you must first disable it by running the Clip PRO app and deselcting the Enabled checkbox. You will now be able to remove it using the Launcher.

** NOTE **
If you have an earlier version of Clip PRO installed and enabled on your device you must disable it. To do this open the Clip PRO application on your device and turn off the checkbox labelled "Enabled".

- Added other Treo options such as shift-phone to select current word, shift-calendar to select current sentence and shift-message to select all.
- Added access to the pSpeak Text-To-Speech engine via a tool. Only visible when pSpeak is installed. pSpeak doesn't seem to perform very well on the Treo 600 for some reason. See www.mhorizon.com/pspeak/ for more details
- Fixed UI resizing problems on Garmin iQue devices
- Reworked UI of main app to be cleaner, and give more room for text editing
- Sped up Clip PRO activation by approximately 400 percent! Used PalmInternals to benchmark.

- Fixed problem where some people were experiencing errors when copying text. Tough to track down as it only occured on some devices (none of mine of course). I believe it's nailed, but if you find anything else of course let me know! Another benefit of fixing this is a nice improvement to the speed of processing cut and copy commands - maybe not noticable on most devices, but it's certainly doing a lot less work now.

1.1 - 16th July 2003

- Changed the cycling of clipboards so that the top of the list is always the most recently cut/copied. With each subsequent cut/copy the clipboards filter down, before popping off the bottom.
